Early in her legal career which commenced more than two
decades ago, Elena made the decision to concentrate in the
areas of Marital and Family Law. This focus has allowed
her to develop expertise in an often emotionally charged
area of the law, gaining her the distinction of being Board
Certified by The Florida Bar Division of Legal Specialization
and Education as an expert in the area of marital and family
law.

Board Certification is the highest level of recognition by The Florida
Bar of the competency and experience of an attorney. As part of
the Certification process, Elena has undergone favorable confidential
review by her peers, completed mandated continuing legal education
programs and has passed a rigorous written examination demonstrating
sufficient knowledge, skills and proficiency in the field of marital
and family law to justify the recognition of The Florida Bar of
special competence.
Elena has shared her expertise as a lecturer and an adjunct law
school professor. She has also been appointed by judges in the
Miami-Dade County Circuit Court to serve as a guardian ad litem
on behalf of unrepresented children in contested custody litigation,
and has been recognized as an expert witness on the reasonableness
of attorneys fees charged by other attorneys in the area.
